Privacy Policy
Norah Studio for macOS · effective 17 September 2026
Norah Studio collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports, no advertising, no tracking of any kind. The app makes no network connections of its own.
What data is collected, and how
None. Norah Studio has no sign-in, no user profile and no server behind it. It does not read your contacts, your location, your other files, your microphone or your identifiers, and it contains no analytics or advertising frameworks. There is no collection to describe, because there is no collection.
This is the same answer given in the App Store's own privacy questionnaire, where every category is marked Data Not Collected.
Your audio never leaves your Mac
Separation runs entirely on your own computer. The interpreter and both models — Demucs for the separation, Beat This! for the bar grid — are embedded inside the app and signed with it. No audio file, no fragment of one, and nothing derived from one is ever uploaded, transmitted or shared with us or with anybody else.
Third parties
No data is shared with anyone, because none is collected. The app bundles no third-party analytics, advertising or attribution code, and sends nothing to any third-party service. The only third party involved at all is Apple, and only for the purchase (below).
What is stored on your Mac, and for how long
The separated tracks are written to a temporary folder inside the app's own sandbox container and are deleted when you quit Norah Studio. Files you export go exactly where you choose to put them, and nothing else is written anywhere.
Two small things persist between sessions, both local to your computer and neither ever transmitted:
- a count of how many different songs you have separated, so the app knows when the five free songs have been used;
- whether Norah Studio Pro has been bought.
They live in the app's own storage on your Mac and are kept for as long as the app is installed.
Deleting your data, and withdrawing consent
There is no personal data held by us to access, correct, export or erase, because none is
collected and nothing reaches us. The two local items above are removed by deleting the app
along with its container, or by moving
~/Library/Containers/com.norahstudio.app to the Trash. No consent is requested by
the app, so there is none to withdraw; stopping all processing is a matter of quitting the app.
Purchases
Norah Studio Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple takes the payment, and Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction. The app asks macOS whether a valid purchase exists and receives nothing back but yes or no. We never see your name, your email address, your Apple Account or your payment details, and no purchase information is sent anywhere by us.
Children
Nothing is collected from anybody, so nothing is collected from children. The app is not directed at children and has no social, messaging or user-generated content features.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. A change that materially affects you would also be noted in the app's release notes.
