Norah Studio for macOS · effective 17 September 2026

This is the end user licence agreement for Norah Studio, a macOS application published by Oriol O'Callaghan. Downloading or using the app means accepting it. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement applies as well; where the two disagree about the licence itself, Apple's wording wins.

What the app does

Norah Studio takes an audio file you already have and separates it into vocals, drums and instrumental, and works out the bars. All of it happens on your Mac. The app does not download, stream, record or convert audio from YouTube, Spotify or any other service: you open a file that is already on your computer.

Your audio, and your right to it

You are responsible for holding the rights to any audio you open in Norah Studio. Use it on your own recordings, on material you are licensed to use, or on material in the public domain. Separating a track gives you no right to it that you did not already have, and what you do with the result is yours to answer for. We never see your files, so we cannot police this and do not try to.

Five songs free

The first five songs are free. The app counts distinct songs rather than separations: reopening a song you have already separated costs nothing. After five songs, carrying on requires Norah Studio Pro, which unlocks unlimited songs and is sold in two forms.

There is no other difference between them, and no free trial is offered. Prices are shown in euros and may differ in other regions — the price displayed in the app at the moment of purchase is the one that applies.

Payment, renewal and cancellation

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.

The monthly subscription renews automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least twenty-four hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within twenty-four hours before the end of each period, at the same €4.99 per month unless we have told you of a change beforehand.

You can manage the subscription, and turn auto-renewal off, at any time in your account settings: System Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → Manage, or from the App Store. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund a period already paid for.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

The one-time purchase does not renew and is not a subscription. For ever means for as long as Norah Studio exists and runs on your Mac; it is not a promise that any particular future version, feature or operating system will be supported.

Restoring a purchase

The purchase screen has a Restore purchases button. Use it on a new Mac, or after reinstalling, to recover a purchase made with the same Apple Account.

Privacy

Norah Studio collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. The Privacy Policy says so in full, and forms part of these terms.

What we do not promise

Norah Studio is provided as it is. Source separation is a statistical process: results vary with the recording, and no particular quality, accuracy or speed is guaranteed. We do not promise that the app is free of faults, or that it will keep working after an operating system update.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss of data, loss of profit, or other indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are untouched by these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not decompile, reverse engineer or redistribute the app or the models inside it beyond what the law and the relevant licences permit. The separation and beat models are third-party works under the MIT licence, and their copyright notices travel inside the app.

Apple's position in all this

Norah Studio is distributed through the App Store, and Apple requires the following to be spelled out. It is standard wording and it appears in the terms of every app sold there.

This agreement is with us, not with Apple

These terms are between you and Oriol O'Callaghan alone. Apple is not a party to them. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Norah Studio and its content.

Scope of the licence

You are granted a non-transferable licence to use Norah Studio on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Maintenance and support

We are solely responsible for any maintenance and support for Norah Studio. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support services for it.

Warranty

We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they have not been effectively disclaimed. If Norah Studio fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our sole responsibility.

Product claims

We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims from you or any third party relating to Norah Studio or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.

Intellectual property

If a third party claims that Norah Studio, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.

Legal compliance

You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Third-party terms

You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using Norah Studio.

Apple as third-party beneficiary

Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Upon your acceptance of them, Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change. The current version is always the one on this page, with its effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
